I’ve Never Backed Data Up, Where Do I start?
Following on from our recent blog post about World Backup Day, we start our series on backing up data.
Having data in only one place can be dangerous. Start backing up your data today and save yourself a lot of inconvenience.
It may sound overwhelming but the good news is, there are lots of options out there. Making backups is much easier and less expensive than trying to recover files from a broken hard drive.
If you’ve never backed your data up, then a great place to start is deciding on what’s most important to you. Are these your Documents? Photos? Spreadsheets? Whatever these are could you afford to lose this data?
Does your business depend on this information? If it does, then you definitely need a copy!
Then ask yourself- how many of those files exist in one place? How many important documents are only on one computer?
Once you’ve identified the important data that is potentially at risk, make a copy and most importantly make sure the copy is on a secure backup system.
Having a good backup system in place ensures you are able to recover your data with ease.
